Amanda L. Brown
Originally from Claremore, my career in medicine started in high school as God led me to become an EMT at the age of 17. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I'm fluent and welcome Spanish-speaking patients!
I graduated AOA from the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine-Tulsa at the top of my medical school class. I completed my residency with In His Image Family Medicine Residency in Tulsa, growing my faith and medical skills simultaneously. In pursuit of becoming a well-rounded physician, I also completed a Christian counseling tract during my time in residency. After residency, I moved to Oregon where I owned my own practice before transitioning that practice to a direct primary care clinic. In 2018, I returned to Oklahoma to be closer to my family.
I enjoy teaching and, prior to starting with Remedy, was an Assistant Professor of Medicine with OU and then faculty with In His Image. I practice full-spectrum family medicine for all ages and genders including women’s health, geriatrics, joint injections and common in-office procedures. I love children and look forward to keeping them smiling and healthy.
When I'm not working, I love to travel with my family — I've been to 48 of the states and served on mission trips to Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, and Egypt! I met my husband while at OU and we now have 4 wonderful children, Judah, Abigail, Aryn and Jaalam. My husband works for Owasso Preparatory Academy where my kids attend school. He is also a local pastor for the Church of God (7th Day). I have a passion for children’s ministry and teach Sabbath school class at my church and run a national VBS every other summer.
